Ruzyně International Airport

On October 21st 2007, me and my three coworkers Karel (Charles in English), Peter, and Jiří (George in English) decided to visit the Ruzyně International Airport in Prague. The airport has been organizing tours around the airport for people who are interested in airplanes and flying. The tour takes about 90 minutes (ours took about two hours) and we saw many airliners from a close distance, even during takeoff, we visited the fire station, and saw many more interesting places and events. I took some pictures and I'd like to show them to you. I will also add some extra information about the operation of airports, airlines, and airliners.

The virtual tour is divided into several chapters. Each chapter will talk about one thing and most of them contain pictures. The chapters are more or less organized as if they were following an airliner that lands in Prague, is then handled by the ground crew, and takes off again.

Please note that the information on this website applies only to large airports and to jetliners and partially turboprops; the numbers, procedures, and any other information given here is not applicable to small airports and small aircraft.
