Vacation part 7: Michal's gift

The third victim, umm I mean person to receive a gift, was Michal. The character that he plays in Everquest is a female druid Aeia. A long time ago, she obtained an item called the Blessed Coldain Prayer Shawl. This item was exceptional at that time and it was the 8th and final item in a sequence of eight quests, each of which resulted in a better shawl. Then, on a raid in a place called Kael Drakkal, our guild had to use a strategy of killing and resurrecting everyone, because it allowed us to move through a locked door without unlocking it. When a person was resurrected, they looted all the items from their corpse... well most of them anyway. Several days after that, Aeia was wondering what's wrong with her stats, especially mana regeneration. She looked at the paperdoll... she was missing her most precious item, the shawl! She immediately saw what happened: she forgot that item on her corpse in Kael Drakkal. Oh my! To make it even more embarassing, she had to ask Lukraak to help her recover the corpse - and he did, but he also woke her (for people not playing Everquest - waking someone from the dead means that a necromancer will animate the corpse and use it as a pet for a short while).

And because the friend didn't forget this faux pass, they decided to give Michal an item that will always remind him of this unfortunate event. Yes, the item is the

You can see how happy Michal was when he finally realized that the 8th Coldain Prayer Shawl was not the last item in the series of quests, but that there's an improved version. And he's the only Everquest player in the world who has finished that quest!

Here is the same ceremony from a different angle.

And here we have all the three happy people with their gifts.
