Vacation part 4: The barbeque

The barbeque took place in Neil's and Claire's house in Redcar. Neil and Claire also offered the three guests from abroad to stay at their house - thank you both for that!

We started to assemble the barbeque shortly after lunch - before we went to Whitby. It was a difficult process, which required us to look into the manual many times.

But our heroes - after more than an hour and after many consultations with the manual - managed to assemble the whole thing. It even looked like a barbeque. And the big hammer (that Neil had to use because one of the parts was not bent at the proper place) wasn't needed more than once anyway - so it doesn't really count.

We even started to assemble a gazebo for the case it would be raining (the weather forcast suggested rain). You would not believe that it took six people fourty minutes to get to this point, but it was the case. The biggest problem was that the construction just wasn't holding together.

Then we realized we needed to move it close to the barbeque, which unfortunately meant to disassemble it, move it, and then assemble it again. But in the end, it was standing. And it didn't break up, because the duct tape was holding it!

Someone was complaining that Michal wasn't helping that much, but in fact he was helping a lot: he was chasing them with the camera, threatening that the longer it takes to assemble the barbeque, the more photos he will take - and this motivated the workers to work fast. Also, as you can see, the Heaven sent us help too - although that angel look a little similar to Mark. But that's just a coincidence.

The party started at about 7 pm. As you can see, it took us a while to actually learn to use the barbeque; now we know that it was not a very good idea to put two full sacks of charcoal on the fire at the same time. The poor Jason (Llayen) and Snowy (Portlandd) who were holding the food out of the fire didn't like it very much after 15 minutes!

But we managed to prepare the food and everyone seems to have liked it. You can see Mark, ???, Grimmish's back, Torsten, and Sam (the original Cheggars) on the first picture. On the second picture, from left to right, is Mark, Dale (Befarr), Nicole (who was too busy to look at the camera), Jude (Felius), and Dave (Ironglove). And we have Dave (Folium) on the last picture from this set. What a T-shirt he had!

Then we moved inside to play a game called Articulate. The people are divided into several teams and one person from each team has to describe words and the other team members have to guess what the word is. It helps being English when playing this game, because a lot of the words have connection to the English history, places, and so on.

There was also a lot of fun during Karaoke.

Everyone had a good time. Mark, Torsten, and Neil on the first photo. Craig (Grimmish), Claire, and Nicole on the second one. Even Craig with Dale and Neil on the third one, but I'm pretty sure I heard Craig saying something about his knees.

Here we have Craig, Lisa (Dale's wife), and Sam on the first picture of the next set. Then Craig, Neil, and Lisa on the second one. On the third picture are Dale, Jude, and Lisa. And finally our hosts on the last snapshot.
