We headed back to the entrance to have a short rest before venturing to the caves. The entrance area has a few attractions - minigolf and gemstone mining - that you can try if you pay extra money, but we didn't do it.
We stayed near the trout pond, where you can feed the birds and the fish - and John and Nicole did.
Ponds also contain a lot of water, so you can try to push people in there. Certain individuals even tried that, but failed horribly.
As you can see on the previous picture, Nicole and Torsten are kissing. You will see a lot of photos with that theme on this website. And, as you can see on the next picture, Dar has already forgiven John that he didn't tell her about the closed road behind the bridge.
Having rested a bit, we headed towards the caves. We had to follow a trail through a wooded area on a mountain. But on the way up, we encountered a ferocious beast - a bear! Well, at least it looked that way on the first glance. In fact, it was a druid pet - the famous Booboo bear. He was gentle, nice, and by the looks of it, he probably didn't brush his teeth for a long time.
On the way up, we had to climb a lot of stairs and follow the trail up the hill, so the ladies seemed pretty tired.
But at one point we reached the following sign: SMILE, the hard part is over. And Dar smiled!
On the way, we passed the Suicide Point. It's an edge of a rock high above the ground. An Indian legend says that a Huron maiden fell in love with a brave from another tribe, but jealous men of her tribe ambushed the brave and threw him over this cliff. Overcome with grief the maid followed her lover. If someone jumped from there, they would be certainly dead. We even made our suicide necro Lukraak (Torsten) pose in the picture! On the first picture, the Suicide Point doesn't look that bad, because the view is covered by vegetation, but check the second picture: if you look carefully, you will see people walking down there!
We took a few more pictures of ourselves on one of the plateaus.
We even took a very special picture for Dar. This one will remind her that Keeta, her Everquest warrior, is a dwarf! I wonder why Dar is covering her face on that picture...
The view was again spectacular. We could see in the same direction as from the Suspension bridge, but this time we were a bit higher. To give you an idea how much higher we were, check the cars on some of the following pictures; they are parked at the entrance, close to the Suspension bridge. These pictures are taken from the Signal Point. The name comes from the fact that signal fires could be seen from Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, Barrie, or Christian Island. And if you look carefully at the hill on the last two pictures, you will see a few ski slopes that are used in winter.
But the real caves were still waiting for us.
